Everett, Washington, offers a variety of family-friendly activities that cater to all ages. And if you’re an adult with time to spare looking for some wholesome ways to spend the day, there is no shortage of spaces to visit that are active, engaging, educational and fun!

Here are some top recommendations for must-visit spots that grown-ups and kids alike will love.

Flying Heritage and Combat Armor Museum

No trip to Everett for adults would be complete without a visit to this heritage museum that’s focused on all things flying! Whether you’re an aviation enthusiast or not, the fun facts and cool displays you’ll see here will peak your interest.

For starters, the displays are packed with info, including detailed explanations that provide historical context. Even if you’re not into general facts and tidbits, the details on atomic bombs and other missile systems will pull you in.

The major highlight of any visit here (for kids and kids at heart) is the “command station” area which brings history to life. Not only do you get to sit in the pilot’s seat, you get to call the shots in a variety of scenarios and imagine what it was really like for pilots making real-life calls in war.

Forest Park

There’s something truly special about Everett’s Forest Park. Maybe it’s the epic walking trails or the artistic displays of sculptures and mosaics. Maybe it’s the bustling children’s park that’s bursting with life or maybe it’s just being surrounded by so many amenities (pickleball courts, basketball courts, horseshoe, tennis, picnic shelters). Whatever the case may be, this is truly a community gathering spot, and going here for an evening stroll or a Sunday picnic is sure to boost your mood and make your day that much sweeter.

Jetty Island

Jetty Island is a place where you can truly leave the city behind and spend the day unwinding in the sun, enjoying the feel of the sand on your bare feet and swimming in the clear shallow waters. This hidden waterfront gem offers the longest sandy beach in Puget Sound with untouched natural beauty. Trust us, when you see these views, you’re going to be glad you packed a picnic for lunch, and dinner—because you’re not going to want to leave.

Schack Art Center

To see beautiful art, or create it, Schack Art Center is the place to go. Exhibitions and events are for browsing, enjoying the art and (hopefully!) buying some to take home. Or if you’d rather be the artist, you can learn anything from glassblowing and watercolour painting to stained glass and photography. It’s truly a hub for the creatives living and visiting Everett, so don’t miss an opportunity to stop in and learn something (or see something beautiful).

Flying Squirrel Trampoline Park

If you want to do something different, get a great workout and add a unique addition to your day, you’ll love living out your childhood dream of bouncing your way around an epic indoor trampoline park. Flying Squirrel really is ‘fun for all ages.’ And this is true if you’re there with a group of adults. It’s impossible not to take a running start towards the bouncy wall-to-wall trampolines, climbing walls and battle beam. For kids and kids at heart, this place is a must-visit stop!
